frequently asked questions

how do I book my free class?

To claim your complimentary pass, please email us on info@peacocktreeyoga.com or complete the form above. We’ll then be in touch to reserve you a spot in an upcoming class. Your free session must be booked and confirmed in advance to ensure your place.

what class should I choose?

After you contact us to book your free pass, we’ll come back with a few questions to help us direct you to the right practice for you.

If you’re not sure where to begin, we’d recommend trying one of our beginners yoga classes. Or if you’re an older adult, recovering from injury or have difficulty coming up and down from the floor, our gentle hatha classes are a great place to start.

when & where are your classes?

We have a range of different classes across the week at our two York locations in Woodthorpe and Holgate.

We hold our beginners yoga classes, intermediate yoga classes and pioneering seasonal workshops from our Woodthorpe Yoga Studio. Gentle hatha classes and dynamic yoga classes are held at our Holgate Yoga Studio.

Details of all our sessions and a full timetable can be found on our classes page. For directions on how to find us, click here.

can I bring a friend with me?

Absolutely! We’d love anyone who wants to try yoga to have the chance to. You can book your friend a place at the same time as you. Or they can fill in the contact form themselves or get in touch with us by emailing info@peacocktreeyoga.com.

what should I wear & bring with me?

Come in comfy clothes that you can move freely in. Leggings or jogging bottoms are perfect. Leave the jeans, walking trousers and belts at home – they restrict your movement, and we want you to get the most from your class.

Yoga is barefoot practice. We leave our shoes, like the world, at the studio doors. We’d recommend having layers with you like a sweatshirt, blanket or socks to keep you nice and warm during the relaxation part of your class.

Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated before and after your session (ideally not during). During your free trial, you can borrow a mat. Once you commit to membership, we’d ask you to use your own yoga mat. Check out our blog post for recommendations on the best yoga mats.

what happens after my free trial?

At the end of your class, your teacher will ask you how you found it. If it feels like the right starting point for you, then you can commit to Peacock Tree Yoga membership. If you think you’d be better suited to a different level, your teacher can talk you through all the options before you join.

see you on the mat!
